ABOUT US

Who We Are

Lyrebird Education is a non-profit organization based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, dedicated to promoting bilateral cultural and educational exchange between Australia and China, with a particular focus on Chinese language education.

The founding team of Lyrebird Education consists of five professionals with over a decade of experience across the education, business, and media sectors in both China and Australia. Having studied, worked, and lived extensively in both countries, they have developed a deep appreciation for the importance of cultural exchange and language learning in fostering cross-cultural communication and nurturing open-minded, inclusive global citizens.

Lyrebird Education is also committed to preserving the Chinese language and culture within local Chinese communities and to enhancing understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture in the broader Australian context.

Why Lyrebird?

The lyrebird is Australia’s largest, oldest, and exclusively native species of perching bird. It is skilled at running but not good at flying, and inhabits the forested regions of southeastern Australia.

The lyrebird is not only beautiful, but also gifted in singing and dancing. It can mimic the calls of various bird species, as well as a wide range of human-made sounds. As an organization committed to language education and promotion, we hope to make every effort to help Chinese language learners in Australia develop a level of language mastery comparable to that of the lyrebird.

In addition, in the traditional stories of Aboriginal communities in Australia, the lyrebird, capable of speaking the languages of many creatures, is regarded as a messenger between species and a transmitter of language across generations. This is also the role that our founders hope to fulfill in the context of cultural and educational exchange between China and Australia.

OUr Responsibility

  • Promote the development of international Chinese language education in Australia, providing better services and solutions for the public to learn Chinese and understand China. Lyrebird Education aims to become a friendly platform for language exchange, multicultural learning, and mutual understanding between China and Australia.

  • Lyrebird Education focuses on developing an inclusive and multicultural society, with the aim of cultivating high-end international talent in Australia who possess a global perspective and strong communication skills, contributing to the integration of Australia’s economy and society into the world.

  • Effectively align Chinese and international education standards to maximize local government support and recognition. We ensure the sustainable development of all educational programs within a legally compliant framework.

  • Coordinate and organize China’s rich international Chinese education resources and facilitate their local adaptation in Australia. Lyrebird Education is committed to achieving win-win cooperation between cross-cultural education and exchange projects between China and Australia.
